Shrek Forever After

I happened to watch Shrek-Forever After and I must tell you that the experience was simply mind boggling. The reason: I checked out a new multiplex with all the new 3d surround sound and all effects that make a movie consummate. The first warning in the theatre read: this is a very short movie and has no intervals!!( So go grab your popcorns) . This version of shrek I would rate it as the best than the prior versions. This time he is not only an ogre, but has a wonderful family, with a lovely wife and 3 kids. He feels his life is a way too perfect and good . thus he signs a contract with Rumpelstiltskin (Walt Dohrn)to go back to any of his ogre days where he used to have complete fun . Rumpelstiltskin cruelly changes this date to be his date of birth so that he never rescues fiona. He doesn’t have his friends, he has lost his family. Meanwhile Rumpelstiltskin has taken over the empire and thus shrek s challenge is to make true love with Fiona before he can call it a day.The stunts involved are simply hilarious and the dialogues of donkey and Puss in the boots keep you laughing all time. A true Entertainer..

Travel Tips

I have travelled a lot and this article is for those looking for tips during travel. Well, going to an unknown country is seriously an adventure as you can be put up to the best and worst circumstances. So when you travel out from your airport with your luggage make sure that you have some local currency at a very easily accessible place. This prevents you from taking those large amounts again and again which you might lose some in the process. And never depend on the taxis waiting outside the airport as they may be misleading and might take you on a ride. So instead go for a taxi booked by the airport or ask the hotel to book one for you. Moreover when you check into a hotel, make sure that’s it’s a safe one. Check out if the suites have electronics safes to keep your valuables. If there is one wipe it first with a cloth and then set a password. If there aren’t any safes then the best thing would be to do is to carry with you as the hotel staffs always have duplicates of room and later on you cannot blame anyone.

Game Change

As a fashion designer, I do allocate some of my time to cuddle myself, Most of the times its eating chocolate ice cream and increasing my wardrobe collection. This time around I thought I would do something different like reading a book. And when I just checked the list of books in the mall, my eyes came across this book named “Game Change”. Our president has always impressed me with his rhetoric speeches every time I heard on TV. Known in the teen world as the only president to be tweet-conscious, I have always enjoyed hearing him. Now the book beautifully compiled and written by Heilemann and Halperin is all about the politics and campaigns that were a part of 2008 US presidential elections. The election which came nothing as a blockbuster entertainment left everyone shocked. A guy with middle name Hussien, with a Kenyan-Kansas ancestry became the president of the United States. The book is all about the first win in Iowa followed by the chain of events that follow to elect the president of United States of America. The author has bought in a voyeuristic look into the campaigns of Obama and Clinton. Astonishing in detail, you would be left in awe to see the politics involved in the elections  .A great book, please go ahead and read it

Photographs

Cheese..!!!! And the room is filled with faces giving their best of best smiles eagerly waiting for the camera flash to go.. That’s your Kodak moment..!!! Years after this 4x6 photograph will bring back the same smile when you look at it and relive the time you had spent together on that day. I have always loved posing for the photographs, getting dressed with the best of your clothes and accessories. Hey after all you need to look right and at your best..!!! Surfing through my photo albums is something that I have always loved. I have a huge collection of them from the time was I born to now. It just helps you remember the moment. A beautiful trip down the memory lane is all what I could say. And now with the advent of techno gadgets we can store our photos online and the need to maintain prints isn’t that essential. Every photo tells us a story and remembering the times with our loved ones is an absolute delight. Maintaining a photo album is all the more essential,as aligning thoughts would bring in more colour to your photos. So take out those photos and start relishing them.

Well this article is dedicated to my favorite actress Kate Winslet- the renowned actress of all times.. Kate Elizabeth Winslet was born on 5th October,1975(yes she is 35 yrs old but still looks beautiful). Her parents, mom as a barmaid and father was a swimming pool contractor. She didn’t have a great childhood as her parents income was only hand to mouth. She was raised at Berkshire where she studied drama from childhood and began acting in british television in 1991(just 16 yrs) . Her debut was a film “heavenly creatures” and she won notable praise for it.A few accolades of her which would be worth mentioning is that she is the youngest person to get six academy awards nominations(whoa) and went on to get the best actress award for The Reader in 2008.Moreover she has won awards at the screen actors guild awards,british academy of film and television awards and at many many places. I became a crazy fan of kate after watching the romantic comedy “The Holiday”. The fim is perfect, the dialogues, screenplay and each part is so well blended(obiviously kate s acting too good). I would prefer you to go and rent a dvd if your free.The movie changed my views and perspective of love..Great work Kate, keep the good word on..

Statue of liberty

I was in NewYork for a couple of days,and I decided to go meet the lady. If you are wondering,who this might me, I m referring to the statue of liberty. Located on an island near the boundary of jersey city, the statue commemorates the centennial of the Americans signing the declaration of independence.The statue was a gift from the French marking the friendship between the two countries.The statue represents a women wearing a stola, a nice enlightening crown and a torch in her left hand. The colour of the statue is made up of pure copper and the torch light is of a gold plating indicating a torch.The statue stands atop of a rectangular pedestal,and look of the lady fills you with awe. The appearance looks like that of a roman goddess liberta representing freedom.The torch represents enlightment and the keystone represents knowledge.I arrived by ferry and was asked to check in at the information counter, following which I had to begin my start up to the mountain which had 146 stairs.Only 10 people are allowed at a time, we had to form in groups of three.After reaching to the top,the view was simply fantastic covering the whole new York harbor.

Twitter

Most of us the so called “new generation” are really crazy about social networking sites. The first one to gain importance was orkut with millions and millions finding their friends just through a click. Orkut became highly famous after which two more giants came in- facebook and twitter. Let’s see what twitter did to our lives. Twitter bought in the concept of microblogging where in people update their status. By status I mean they what they are upto(c’mon this is what we want to hear from our near and dear ones). And then apart from your family members you could “follow” celebrities and get updates on what they are doing. This enabled stars to maintain relations with their fans. This microblogging service also bought in a lot of business as advertising agencies started paying people to tweet about their products. This in turn attracted more people to join. Mobile phones came with special twitter applications so that people can tweet 24x7. This was the impact created by this social networking site. Moreover,the English language also got a few new words as tweet,twitter,twitteratti, twitterverse and so on. Apart from uniting friends and family twitter created this gossip channel where in people could express as to what they feel . with more and more people joining this social networking site we are sure to see the best in thefuture

F.R.I.E.N.D.S

One of my favorite pastimes include that of watching tv(its everyone’s pastime) But I definitely just enjoy the time I put in watching this wonderful series of friends. I have been watching it since I was 16 and now the re runs are also good, I m never bored of watching this stuff. The beauty in the success of the show is that, in these 10 seasons not even a single one has repetitive script.!! Whoa that’s an achievement comparing the other ones where there s drag and repetition. Going back in history, 16 years ago in 1994 David crane and Marta Kauffman started this show and it was an instant hit. People all over the world were simply crazy. Moreover the show won many accolades at the Emmy with a whooping 63 nominations. The six actors became worldwide famous and you wouldn’t believe this but their last show which was the final one in the 10^th season was viewed by more than 52.3 million people on the NBC.Such was the impact and success gained by the show. The show differs from others in the view that it was ensemble where in every character was given equal importance and role. My favorite would be the “smelly cat” song by phoebe.
